It is mind-bogling, how the simple line between the text fields is such a simple yet effective way to show the direction. I didnt even notice them at first, yet I read it all correctly.
Unless Feretta changes them, some team uniforms have been posted already, on the e621.net site.
Here is what Team Vida wears: https://e621.net/posts/2923172
But I like Team Fluffy Stuff (Olivia Scarrvender, Galetria Joice, and Alanne Mon Siviel, who is one of Vix’s sisters outside of the ToT story): https://e621.net/posts/2961407.
We have already met another of Vix’s (outside of story) sisters, Leena Mon Siviel, who is the helmsperson on the Flying Hootsman.
I love how it’s not just us, but the characters being given the exposition. It makes it flow so much better when there’s an actual reason for someone to be spouting historical trivia.
I think the ‘show, don’t tell’ advice, while good, is taken too much as a hard rule rather than as a thing to keep in mind. New writers tend to rely to heavily on it, but ‘tell’ is a literary tool that needs to be used as well, when it is right.
