Hey Feretta, I actually have an interesting ask. How would a proper Vitrin user work? Like, how would Vitrin actually work if it were to be used properly, if at all? How would it interact with a hadalen user? And how would a dual user (Vitrin – Hadalen) work out in this way? Is Hadalen a sort of ācontrolā for Vitrin? I know theyāre opposites but it does make me wonder
Dunno if this is what they meant or not, but what I would like to know is.. How was it supposed to work? I remember something about it being a core for teleportation, and the test was to teleport to a moon somewhere (I think; haven’t gone back to check).
If the transdimensional infinitely sized Universe-eating creature didn’t exist, and assuming Vitrin had successfully engineered the core to work properly, what would using it have been like, and what could it have been used for? Only teleportation of one’s personal self? Could one teleport other people? Objects? Temporary holding buffers for preservation of things?
The original purpose was to allow instant point to point transportation of matter basically from anywhere to anywhere in range of the system. Matter means people and objects, and the vision for it would be to build more and more cores, teleport the cores out to the max range from the previous core, and then just leapfrog expand more and more until you can basically go anywhere in the universe instantly.
It wouldn’t be on a personal level, mind you, it’s a transport system that requires a broadcaster to send the object, hence the big pad Baelin got onto during the demonstration.
That makes a lot of sense! But it also begs the question… What are people born with a Vitrin focus expecting? If, even under the scenario of it working exactly as advertised, it still required a broadcasting pad… Why would they be trying to connect to it without the sender technology to begin with??
Though, that also brings up the question of how the ‘focuses’ came about to begin with. Alf made it seem like his ‘White Hole Core’ was meant to be usable by everyone, not just people born with a black tail tip, when it debuted.. So it’s weird that only people with a focus can use it now. And if focuses were invented later, why would they even invent one for the Vitrin core to begin with, especially if it couldn’t work on a personal level to begin with?
Or is all of this gonna be stuff you explain later on, and would be spoilers?
The focus thing didn’t used to be a requirement when they all had biochips in their necks, which the real world people don’t have anymore. We’ll get to that, eventually. :p
Actually, didnāt we see like, one actual āuserā of vitrin in the past? Fenās Fatherās Ex (Sorry Iām no good with names), or atleast a ārepresentationā of her
Welp, there goes all hopes for another vitrin ācreatureā/user lol, Either way yeah makes sense Vitrin will just be like, not used for much other than the usual plot points
There are users who ‘trigger’ Vitrin gates accidentally, like Allie, Gale’s lost friend/lover, at the beginning of chapter 7. (If the tournament uniforms on e621 are an indication, we should see Gale and Olivia on Team Fluffy Stuff (https://e621-dot-net/posts/2961407). And in a side story on e621, Mis’Alia can be seen, thinking of ‘stopping’ another Vitrin ‘hacker’ (https://e621-dot-net/posts/2786725). Warning: e621 has ‘explicit’ pictures.
MA!, MAA! ,theres that wierd sky-boat again. I dont like how it is just wierldeh flotin’ there all unnatural like
Yo they arrived at Zion from The Matrix
“Trust the math” you say, as you fit by millimeters. I don’t know whether to be mad or impressed.
Totally not quake difficulty slipgates š
Hm. Bit of a disconnect from the previous comic. I’m guessing this was done for the sake of not drawing the sub-chapter out too long?
(Something like a “sometime laterā¦” in the corner probably wouldn’t hurt.)

Sorry for the vast ammount of questions btw
Vitrin does not work, it only consumes. Anyone who opens a Vitrin gateway better have a helluva bargain to offer the cosmic entity beyond.
Huh, I wonder if weāll see vitrin more in the future
So basically Joe Schmoe successfully summoning cthulu.
Die on the Spot or have something of gagantuan magnitude ready to be maybe spared. Nice.
Dormammu I have come to bargain : P

Baelin Vitrin was the one who developed the system in the first place. He’s no longer available for comments.
