Hm. The ship looks nice, but I’m that type of person that even with the help of “magic.” Airships that look like that should have a balloon or balloons to help it stay in the air. It just looks unfinished and wrong to me.
Aaaaaa so jealous of the multi-embodiment they’ve got going on there.
Do they have semi-separate wills and self-concepts? Or is it more of a full blend pseudo-hivement?
That’s why you want to communicate with Lars. Regardless who you are if you got something important to do or help you best go see him for the help needed. Hopefully you don’t have to fight to get up there to see him.
Ok, I was already aware that the Farellians were advanced before the Vitrin core disaster happened, but how advanced would they be considered at this point in the story? How does their technology compare to what’s been achieved in the real world? They’ve obviously got equally or more advanced electricity (just look at the crystals), but is stuff like flying ships and magic the only thing they have over our tech? Have they rediscovered how to get to space, have they not quite reached that point, or is their level of technology an amalgamation of medieval, fantasy, modern and futuristic?
TL;DR: How advanced are the Farellians at this point in the story, and how does their tech compare to IRL tech?
Sorry for that wall of text of a question, I find in-depth lore to be really interesting.
beginning of Chapter 3 has a brief explanation of their history from Shia (sic – the OWL), and Vix gives a more detailed explanation at the beginning of Chapter 6 (breaking the 4th wall). And LARS gives Fen a very detailed history, starting at around chapter 5-26.
They have had 9(?) extinction events, which resets EVERYTHING.
I know about the lore pages and the disasters. I was wondering more about the actual level of tech at the time in the story this page of the comic is at and how it compares to real-world tech. They obviously have things like cars and motorcycles, but there are also flying ships now. Since they have that, you’d expect them to rival real-world technology, if not outright surpass it. Then again, there have been no signs of anyone travelling to space since before the most recent disaster. So how would their current level of technology compare to IRL tech?
It’s kind of a different tech tree from what we’re used to. We started with burning stuff to create power, they started with magic batteries in the form of crystals that can store lightning, so everything is being developed using electrical power rather than burning power.
In that context, their tech is kinda like the early industrial revolution by comparison, except they have magnetic levitation and electric motorcycles and rail cannons instead of coal fired trains, crank-start cars and single shot gunpowder muskets.
Science fiction technology powered by refined magic with the theme of the early industrial revolution. That kind of works, especially considering they’ve had to start over with leftovers from the previous civilisation several times. It makes me think of a weird mix of the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series.
Take time to rebuild/recharge and with more stamina , the body can aid rebuilding faster. :see fighting side comic. Applied to the whole body they can aid your entire body to run faster: Sandevistan go BRRRR
Aligned in a certain way they could store energy : Crystals
Making a localized magnetic field by flowing energy through large strings of them and “disableing it” in certain spots by sending a countering field so nothing sticks on deck XD
Create objects by sending them out to form a solid, but they can be directed at will to become gaseous or liquid. Terrifying concept: Near invisible mere atoms thin blade
Are you sure that would be magnetic levitation, and not some freaky sort of gravitic manipulation, like what the world anchors do? If it’s with magnets, they’d have to be so extremely powerful that nothing metal could be anywhere near it without zooming straight toward it.

Holy shit whoever is doing the artwork needs a goddamn raise this is spectacular
The artist is named Feretta. This is their website. If you can afford to, I’d recommend supporting their artwork by contributing monetarily.
is it me or have we seen the red plumed dragon somewhere before?
having the Artifacts, like LARS, helps with their knowledge and tech.

Could also explain magic as : “Nanomachines son!”

I whonder what material can deal with the longterm erosion of a railgun .o.

Vix and girl have same expression while Fen and boy have same expression. Cool.
I’m speaking about the mouth expressions, not full facial expression. We know Fen is annoyed while boy is in awe of big toy.
Gotta like the dumbfounded or that OMG!!! look
Wow look at fens face she looks annoyed.
Well she sees a certain pipe smoking owl that has at times had a too high opinion of herself
I know right that’s why she isn’t happy
