Almost literally what my character did in a D&D game once, the only difference being that she’d never actually been a slave of the guy she hacked to death, she just didn’t take having herself and the other similarly-aged female PC threatened with it very well.
I have a question i left in a past page and got unanswered, and i’m interested, would, for example, hadalen-casted wood burn? like, would it burn then turn into ashes? burn forever? burn and disappear? can hadalen also cast liquids or gain/lose temperature depending on what you cast? so many questions-
Theoretically, yes, it could burn, but would dissolve into essence while doing so. It’d burn more akin to an ablative heat shield than a log of wood. But that’s a function that also requires the summoner to understand the mechanics of how and why wood burns, in order to imprint that onto the summon.
Liquids are very hard to conjure, since it also requires innate knowledge and understanding of all aspects of how liquids work, such as surface tension, molecular structure, etc. It’s possible, but if you want to make it correct and natural looking, that’s a very difficult one.
Temperature is a limitation, but I haven’t actually considered that one so far. In theory it would be possible to create Hadalen fire and ice, but that’s very theoretical.
So, basically what you’re saying is, if you have enough essence and knowledge, and also affinity, you’d be able to conjure, lets say, a really light sword that’s hard to break, or a spear that when launched hardly loses momentum, but with the limitations that you’d need to know an existing material? or if im wrong, is it more like being able to manipulate the properties freely?
if the second one’s the case, may i ask, would it be possible to like, make gauntlets that let you break the ground with ease, while being light and not breaking your hand each time you smash the ground?
also i just realized the time of comments only applies to your time, it says here that i posted this around 1:58-2:01 am, but it’s currently 7:00 pm for me, wich confuses me
Basically – Hadalen himself have unlimited gate to essence and he can conjure material that can contain Vitrin. So, i guess it’s yes, if you know enough and have enough power – but, i think it’ll require ALOT.
Basic laws of physics still apply. You can make objects that are basically unbreakable, but the objects themselves are just objects, your physical combat power is what determines its effectiveness. So a light sword is still a light sword, gauntlets are still fist weapons you swing with your fists, etc.
So basically, you can make something like unbreakable strings, but if you were to create a weapon it’d still require you to have enough force for it? Then wouldnt a hadalen adept just be able to make a complex mechanism that works like, idk, a harpoon gun? Or maybe even some sorta exoskeleton?
From what I have gather from this convo is that as long as you don’t break the law of physics plus have the knowledge and power you can do whatever you want
Can you dynamically shrink a Hadalen object without basically re-creating it? Specifically, can you shrink an object ‘against tension’, like.. Wrapping a steel wire around a fence post, and then shrinking the wire down to ‘cut’ said fence post?
Relatedly, if Fen knew about carbon nanotubes, could she make Hadalen carbon nanotube strings that would be muuuch thinner (and thus sharper), and also muuuuch stronger, than steel wire?
That could be something that’d give her an insane advantage, being able to seemingly cut things in arbitrary ways from a distance using minimal effort (since carbon nanotubes are very simple on a molecular level, so might be very efficient to maintain).
To be fair, I didn’t come up with it myself. It’s inspired by certain events in ‘Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality’, which is a Harry Potter fanfiction that pokes fun at all the irrational and stupid decisions Harry Potter characters make, and instead has them all make sane and rational decisions.
Very different story, and I’d say it’s closer to science fiction than fantasy. Also changes a lot of details of the world, and is written in a way that tries to teach the reader about rational thought as well.
And a lot of things that were flaws/mistakes in the original books are reworked to actually NOT be stupid mistakes anymore, somehow.
something that would be even scarier is creating smoke, forcing the opponent to inhale said smoke, then cut their respiration off completely, or inject hadalen into the bloodstream then puncture or stop organs completely, if that’s even possible
I got the idea from the story ‘Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality’, which is a Harry Potter fanfiction that redevelops the story and premise of Harry Potter from the standpoint of if the characters were actually thinking rationally when they’d make decisions.
It also changes a lot of basic things about the way the world works (compared to the canonical books), and in particular it dives into specific practical rules for ‘transfiguration’, and what is and isn’t safe to do.
Specifically, since transfiguration is always temporary, they’re NEVER supposed to transfigure anything into a liquid or a gas, because liquids will evaporate, and gasses will revert to their original solids when the transfiguration wears off. If you breathe in a transfigured gas, you uh.. Have VERY low chances of survival.
________________
Maybe with enough control, a Hadalen mage can change only the parts of a gas that’s in the enemy into something dangerous… But still, the chances of them breathing in some of it themselves and accidentally converting that into lethal material is.. Well, I’d still worry enough that I wouldn’t try it if I were them.
But I’m not Feretta or Dreadwolf, and they’d have to chime in to say if that’s accurate or not.
My profile pic yeah I guess it kinda does. I didn’t see it like that before. I say this respectfully
Some story’s say that okami from games or lore is male some stories say female and others say gender less.
Either way it’s a good game and character.
I say check status on everyone there’s to girls laying there top panel. We have not seen fen since started. And we have not seen other mercs for a bit. So a setrap report probably good idea lol.
Gore and blood is not something I usually enjoy, but this? This brings a smile to my face.
Hope someone gives Lamb a hug after this, though, I feel like she’ll need it.
Is no one going to mention his pink undies? LOL. Seriously though, I am surprised she didn’t draw it out longer, but I can understand her desire to have him, as they say, done and dusted.
I’m guessing the tears in the last panel are because she suddenly realized that she has turned in to the monster that she thought he was by killing him in this brutal manner.
Hisashi Ouchi was a Japanese nuclear plant worker who suffered a criticality accident while making a batch of uranium nitrate, he added too much uranium and it reached critical mass, this exposed to 17 Sieverts of radiation (you are exposed to about 0.0024 Sieverts per year).
He was forcibly kept alive for 83 days while his body literally fell apart, fully aware of what was happening to him.
Morgan will need a long night of being held by her mate (forgot her name). The emotional hit of actually attaining your revenge can be overwhelming and will throw your emotions into a whirlwind until you’re able to come down from that high. Speaking from experience of having gone through such revenge (not killing, but getting long overdue revenge that was very rightfully deserved). She’ll come out of this less broken.
But those tears in the last panel… I know that feeling.
not to mention, sometimes you need to find a new drive for life, if you destroy whats driving you…
eather way, it almost always leaves you a husk for quite a while
The tears show how cathartic it actually is. The idea that revenge doesn’t make things better is laughable. I got revenge on someone who severely marred my life. The elation and happiness and resolve I got from that revenge was better than anything a therapist could ever give me.
She will need someone to hold onto after, tho. While the revenge certainly brings catharsis, the suddenly realization of it all being made right is one hell of an emotional hit.
I will disagree, her mind isn’t gone, but she is letting all her anger out in a rage, especially repeating some of the horrific things he said to her while using her… 🙁

Yes, and as we know. you can create your full copy with essense AND it will look like normal person. So, it’s almost unlimited power

That is a scary thought but will agree it’s very useful and gives a big advantage

Note to self: Never piss Lamb off. O_O
Now check on everyone’s status I guess.
Probably a good idea. Lol
…Also, on an unrelated note, your profile pic kinda reminds me of Shiranui from Okami but with blue markings instead of red.
My profile pic yeah I guess it kinda does. I didn’t see it like that before. I say this respectfully

I’ve never seen so much anger pent up inside someone and its fucking awesome
Revenge is sweet, but doesnt last long
Now wait and see everyone and see what others are gonna do after fight.
Gore and blood is not something I usually enjoy, but this? This brings a smile to my face.
Hope someone gives Lamb a hug after this, though, I feel like she’ll need it.
I would totally volunteer to hug it out with her!
…Aaaas soon as she’s no longer soaked in blood.. ^^;;
Same here, except i wouldnt mind the blood
I would gently wash it off of her as I hug her and comfort her ^,^
Is no one going to mention his pink undies? LOL. Seriously though, I am surprised she didn’t draw it out longer, but I can understand her desire to have him, as they say, done and dusted.
Realistically she is going to need all the therapy. But the gorehound in me is very happy with this outcome.
This IS the therapy.
I’m guessing the tears in the last panel are because she suddenly realized that she has turned in to the monster that she thought he was by killing him in this brutal manner.
I don’t think so, I think it is a remembrance of all the pain he inflicted on her as a child
Stabbing is nice, but I’d’ve rather seen him recieve the Ouchi treatment.
The what treatment?
Hisashi Ouchi was a Japanese nuclear plant worker who suffered a criticality accident while making a batch of uranium nitrate, he added too much uranium and it reached critical mass, this exposed to 17 Sieverts of radiation (you are exposed to about 0.0024 Sieverts per year).

Oookaaay… This is definitely far scarier than simply Mis’Alia losing her cool.
Unless that dude is a lich, he is “D. E. D.” dead. Or will be, soon…
Morgan will need a long night of being held by her mate (forgot her name). *GENTLE HUGGLES*
She’s gonna need some serious therapy sessions after this. Note the tears in the last panel. It’s not as cathartic as she thought it would be.

So this is what happened before Superman showed up in “Justice Leaguge: New Frontier?”
Called it mind is gone.
I forgot to mention it makes sense she has gone all out with him considering ptsd that she has from past.
Don’t get me wrong
Bears a prick
I will disagree, her mind isn’t gone, but she is letting all her anger out in a rage, especially repeating some of the horrific things he said to her while using her… 🙁
Look at it from another view when I say gone I mean she seeing red so much so that she’s lost it.
Now her anger is understandable
