Yes, but besides combat I have some ideas about the right kind of visual feedback I’m looking for. I mean, open eyes should help casting, shoudn’t it? But somehow it appears to distract so many beginners, and they prefer to cast with their eyes closed. I guess this is a very common problem that deserves to put some talk into.
I like one little miss know-it-all is the only one that looks legitimately terrified.
Also, Filinara kinda looks like she’s staring blankly, and not even facing toward Fen in the first panel. Is she possibly blind, or maybe just visually impaired?
I bet, we have seen Filinara’s “over the top” expression.
I figured, as she feels the things go over the top, she begins to look on the ground, as if she were on the edge of the abyss. Like here, on the second last frame https://www.feretta.net/comic/a-tale-of-tails-7-37/
Would you step into the abyss if your teacher asked?
The squirrel’s tail is sticking straight out and back (startled), the cat’s tail and ears are drooping down (intimidated), and the mink(?) looks like she wants some of that (excited).
Yes please! I ‘m eager to hear from Fen why open-eyed casting is so important and how to work on it.
Well think of combat… filinara closes her eyes and her opponent, possibly a master, would take advantage of that and probably knock her out

shed showing the derg. not many people can say they can turn into a dragon. even fewer can say they were fucked by one
CALLED IT!!!!!!
FEN DID DRAKKEN!!!!
And Fen just put the fear of the gods into Princess
Fili looks unfazed.
Is there something you’d like to share with the rest of the class, Filiā¦?
She’s fine, she’s just listening intently. She must be avoiding using her central field of vision to focus on what was said, to note what wasn’t.
A bit over the top there fen lol

*quietly waiting for Mis to come down and smack her over the head with a roll of paper for showing that form*
Why? Isn’t this the best place and time to show (off)?
That axe looks familiar
REALLY late on this, but It’s the Leviathan axe from God Of War 2018 and Ragnarok. I literally just noticed it myself while rereading the comic.
Well Fen certainly has come far~

Oh no she’s showing off again.
