I just binged everything up to here in about.. two days off and on, and DAMMIT now I want more!
Curse you and your worldbuilding and story making me crave more of it, CUUURSE YOOOOU!
I definitely agree. It might help her feel more relaxed around Fen (even if simply from knowing that someone else knows a bit about what she’s going through) if she heard what Fen went through.. But then again, it might just make her feel small and stupid for being upset about her own situation, when her own situation is also something that I think is perfectly valid to be upset by.
I suppose it might be best if Fen just told her, at most that when she lost control, she accidentally killed someone.. And hurt a whole bunch of other people very badly.
Even all that is probably too much, but given that Piris himself forgives her, and Baren is apparently still alive, she probably feels a lot less weight from that ordeal now than she did in the past – so it’s at least something I think she’d be able to share and talk about.
Probably to start with though, just something like, “Well, from personal experience, I know that losing control can cause those you care about the most to get hurt, so perhaps we can help you prevent that?”
Which is kinda badly worded, which I’ll blame on it being late and my brain not being able to focus all that well right now.
Ok so the only word that i can, most assuredly will, call her is “Princess”. Mainly do to the fact that she thinks highly of herself and can’t be bothered to blame herself for her own actions. Lol
I kinda feel like it is a defense mechanism. QUite possibly she got angry and an accident happened with shook her, but before she could come to terms with it her parents freaked and packed her away then left her. So she feels isolated, abandoned, hurt, and has made a shell that may not be as thick as she likes. And we know Fen and Mis could get her to open up, one through wisdom beyond years and the other through their own experiences.
this is highly insightful and the exact way that I felt she was like when I read both pages together she screams that she was dumped before she could come to terms with what happened and due to it she has grown resentful and pained over what they did to her while still seeming like she was raised in a royal way and having a slight air of high strung “excellence” more than likely she was raised to be better then her lessers and she hasn’t seen enough of the rest of the world to correct this assumption and that this is a drastic enough change for her that she will not cope well without intervention and because of this I will enjoy the next panels on what Ferretta does with it and hope to see this character grow as a person!
Also, I love the look on Fen’s face in most every panel, here. She’s genuinely looking forward to teaching that girl, in particular, the ropes and so much more.
Lol there she goes getting cockey but it seems fen used that to her advantage to get her well….not break but open up a little.
Seems she’s trying to get to understand her students more without them knowing it.
Don’t know about you all but I would just be sitting watching this on the wall there.
You know, that little cutie on the left standing there like the last virgin in Texas carries her own wool bedroll with her. With that floofy tail of hers, give her a quiet corner and she’s good to go for a night’s rest. I’m actually kinda groovin’ on those beautiful baby blues.
The way she is standing does make her look innocent and maybe not used to clothing that does not cover as much in the thigh/leg area. And yes she is adorably sweet and I just want to hug her.

I think the roof being blown off is a better outcome than when Fen snapped…

Thank you for reminding me, I was hoping to find Baren’s last name. What if her parent’s reaction were to her being his daughter?
I’m… surprised she doesn’t think they’re scared of her, but I suppose that’s revealing of me to even say that. XD
Seriously though, I can see how Fen’s taking this lack-of-self-awareness bundle gal this well, given her own issues. Hope she can be properly guided!

Huh. Didn’t take long for her to open up.

Yes, I know what I said.
