Everyone! Feretta just posted a new “Space Vixen” chapter on webtoon! Go check it out, it’s a great comic! š And a big thx to you, Feretta, for not abandoning it. Make sure not to overwork yourself! :3
… Hokay, so, they need to stop thinking of it as a ‘rift’ to ‘close’. A thinking/living entity of this nature can just punch its way through the fabric of reality at a different point. Once you deal with things that exist outside of normal space-time, your solutions also have to exist outside of normal space-time.
Your Universe, or section of probability, or corner of the Multiverse, is not special. Something that eats space and time has been eating space and time, and it’s your technology verses an endless sea of living, writhing, destructive biological processes. Space gets crunched, time gets torn, matter breaks apart as the fundamental forces that hold it together now seek to scatter it in all directions on all axes.
It is a creature. It has a body, of a sort. It has the equivalent to biology.
And the first step to defeating it is to learn about that biology, learn how it functions, and determine what could make it stop functioning.
Do you want to say, if Vitrinās orb is ālivingā, then just remove the condition in normal space-time, that allows it to āliveā, and it will Ā«stop functioningĀ»? If so, how is it different from āclosing riftā or suspending it, which is not possible as you shown because of self-referencing paradox?
The condition which allows it to live is the nature of space-time itself. That’s not something you can remove, at least not without killing yourself and destroying the ability for anything to exist at all.
See now, when that computer says “existential threat”, I’m pretty sure he’s using it right. That thing is a threat to existence. I wish people in our reality knew what that term actually meant.
Eh, maybe we’ll get invaded by the guys from Mars Attacks, someday. š
“The word “exists” is one of the most pivotal and controversial in philosophy.”
“Theists affirm that God exists while atheists deny the very same statement; materialists say that matter exists while some idealists think that it is illusory; nominalists, as they are called, deny the existence of characteristics like redness while platonic realists affirm it; some kinds of behaviorists deny that there are minds inside bodies.” (Morton White)
I’d say Vitrin has it’s own view on existence too, and according to itās view, everything it consumes continues to exist. Ā«Nothing gets destroyed in there. It gets unified.Ā» (Baelin) https://www.feretta.net/comic/a-tale-of-tails-5-62
I feel a lil insulted by the whole “toss it into deep space”
And then the hadalen saying “if only if i thought of that 200 centuries ago” mixed in with the flavor text at the bottom of the page.
But still extreamly amusing at the same time
As I think now, the universe is consists of borders and gaps, which are providing the form and the structure for every object, thus Ā«making the differenceĀ» between everything that is Ā«not the sameĀ». Probably the vitrin magic is based on piercing such borders, and the risk of popping the object border completely, like popping a balloon, is the major drawback. Maybe Baelin has accidentally popped an important border during the teleportation experiment, and the rift appeared. Is there a way to reconstruct popped borders permanently to close the rift? And if there is one, what will stop another Baelin from putting his nose too deep?
Why do I have a feeling that the one red and black Dragon woman that looks like Mis is from that universe in the orb and tried to have Fen get so angry that she basically murders everyone in a blind rage?
Settle down, Al, you did look preoccupied with Missie’s tits for most of that time. Just sayin’
Rarely do I get the feeling of being called out in a comic, much less by one of the characters, but here we are š
So, the orb is less a nest of a monster and more a gateway to a different universe. That wants to kill everyone. Alright, I can see why chucking it into a black hole might not work. Eh, would still like to see how the bastard interacts with extreme gravity. I mean, there are physical laws it has to follow, Al was able to create an indestructible barrier around the void hole it created. Event horizon – the trash bin of the universe!
Well I donāt think like Vitrinās orb universe wants to kill. It want to make everything smooth and even, it does not like borders, and most of all it does not like the rift itself, so it just consumes and incorporates everything into itself to push itās border as far as it can, until all in the universe becomes unified and borderless. It does not kill individuals; it wipes out borders between those who were consumed. I think so.
I doubt that ‘smooth and even’ is its goal. It itself is the very definition of space-time not being smooth and even, as it is the complex intersection and interactions of warping spatial dimensions that defines it to begin with.
Removing barriers, maybe. But not smooth and even.
Chucking it into a black hole might work, depending on how the creature’s equivalent to biology works and what it ‘eats’. A black hole could give it a very full meal, trap it permanently, or rip it apart (kill it). It just depends.
However, I doubt they have the technology necessary to create a black hole safely, and without first studying the fsck out of it they won’t know if a black hole would even help.
Love to see the art in the background. Also. B
Feretta has achieved: infinite content!
Multiverses are funny. And how does Halalen have a picture of his daughters future gf on a non-existant car?
Is it me, or I just saw a poster/photo of Vix laying in a car… did anyfurry notice that???
*tilt head*

As it happens.. Next page. :p
Nice. another page! I missed Mis’Alia actually. I hope we see her soon.
Yay i got a new page for my birthday

Its like feretta purposefully added that in after reading the comments ya know?
I did :p
Iām very exited to hear Hadalenās plan!

I can agree with that definition of space-time. But what would be Vitrin’s goal than? Does it have something to do with Baelin’s words?

Seriously, that’s what I wanna know
That poster in the background is a time paradox! Unless Space Vixen is, like, a famous character during this time. Or something. o:
Don’t you know? Hot chicks & cool cars are timeless.
I can’t wait to see how this all plays out. š
